I don’t usually have that problem – computers are still way quicker than me!!

Seriously though I think you have to regularly clean unwanted files off your computer as this is the thing that slows them down and what makes your computer feel “laggy” after you had it for some time”.

If it is a working computer then ditch all the junk and games. Want to play games then have another computer. 🙂

The main problem we have in chat for I’m An Engineer is the number of people all typing and sending messages at the same time.

The server (big computer that runs the website) has to receive, process, display and then send each line of text in turn to everyone in the chat room.

That’s a lot of information to process especially when there are multiple chats open. Imagine trying to force lots of people through a very small door way, they all have to slow down and queue up when they get to the door.

So if those people are your messages they all have to slow down and may not pass through the door straight away. That’s when we get lag and sometimes it takes a little while before we see a message we just sent appear.

Hey I lover Brownies – I am not a computer expert at all! My suggestion would be – call IT and let the experts sort it out :). In the mean time, I would probably google it to see if I can do it myself 🙂
