      Hi Theepthy.R.

Towards the end of my apprenticeship last year I was working in our Development Engineering department for our latest engine. In that team I was in charge of ensuring that all the engine testing was planned and carried out as required and assessing all the engine components after test to ensure they did their job properly.

During my time there we were working towards getting the engine approved for flight. We had to work really hard to deliver all the required tests and data on time and this resulted in the engine and plane entering service on time with the best approval rating ever given, which was a great thing to be involved in!

Working out how to make 3D printed models that are larger in size than the capacity of my printer.

I’m pleased to say I met the challenge head-on and developed lots of techniques along the way to do it.

This year Bristol (where I live and work) is a green capitol of Europe. As an apprentice we have been given a task to design, build and fly an ecological aircraft that won’t be using jet fuel to generate power. It is still in the process but the difficulty of the task is enormous and on top of that we have to do it in our own time! We also work to the deadline – end of this year which just makes it even more challenging. Can’t wait to see it flying 🙂

Sorry to be boring but I’ve only been on one project because I’ve only been on the apprenticeship for 5 months! However this project has been pretty challenging because it was my first site! Trust me… It’s almost as if builders have their own language! This site has taught me a lot. Saying this, my next site is going to be challenging again, because I’ll be back to square one. This building is finishing and my next project is going to be in the middle construction stages, I’ll have no idea! Oh well… It’s all part of the learning process 😛
