Hello again Ben10! Thanks for keeping me busy:)

I was fortunate enough to be working in the company before, in HR. Tbh just before I started I didn’t even know what Airbus is or does (..don’t tell anyone haha!). So since I started working in HR I was involved in a lot of events and I met a lot of engineers who told me all about their job. It was great to hear that they are so passionate about it! I then visited Airbus assembly line in Toulouse in France where I had a chance to have a look at how they put the aeroplane together and I fell in love with what I saw! Since then I was really into researching how aeroplanes fly and guess what – it turned out to be farily complicated! So I decided to apply for an Apprenticeship to learn more about being an aerospace engineer! So I am not an Engineer yet but I am working hard at Uni and at work to become one next year!

      Hi Ben 10,

I decided I wanted to be an Engineer when I was about 15 I loved machines of all kinds like planes, cars and bikes, but I also really liked doing Maths and Physics at school. I heard the boss of an F1 Team say that to work for them you needed a good Mechanical Engineering degree, so I said to myself that’s what I’m going to do.

I was actually all ready to go to university full time before I came across an advert for my apprenticeship. I realised that I could get my degree with all my fees paid, get loads of work experience and come out with a job at the end. To top all that off it was with a top class company, Rolls-Royce. So for me it was a no brainer and I’ve never looked back since. I love my job and every thing about it!

I always wanted to be an engineer and I loved cars (especially fast powerful cars), so I decided that I wanted to be an Automotive Engineer.

I worked hard, studied hard, went to university and ended up working for Jaguar Cars – so that was a great result for me.

In school I didn’t really know what I wanted to be. The only thing I did know, is that I enjoyed the subjects I did. I was absolutely in love with geography โ€“ learning about the natural world and its processes, but I also liked the problem-solving aspect of chemistry and the creative side to product design.

Unfortunately for me, these arenโ€™t subjects that tie together very well academically….

In year 12 I was taken on a trip to Oxford University. I chose to sit in an engineering lecture โ€“ I had no interest in the other subjects offered and knew that engineering was linked to the Technology side of Science. Soon I was also to learn that Geography and Design were both very much included. The more I looked into it, the more I realised I had an interest in the Built Environment and so I decided that I wanted to do Civil Engineering!

I’ve always been a sightseer – I absolutely love seeing new famous structures that I haven’t seen before and learning how they were made… Which is why I am here today! ๐Ÿ˜›
